Poem -

In the Night I Walk

In the night I walk
Wondering at the sound of myself
Feet stepping surely on the road
Wind whispering in my ear
One would think I am strong
Self assured forging ahead
Into the unknown night

But It is a lie
This aura of sure footed ease
Of knowing just where to go
Of being just who I should be
Not the lost creature
I know myself to really be

In the night I walk
Listening to the sound of lovers
Sharing odd talk about their day
Meeting each other for coffee
Even being annoyed when late
I envy all of them

The truth of my pain
Lies in the knowledge of myself
The reasons I am alone
Shedding tiny tears tonight
Ones that sparkle like diamonds
Formed in my heart of pain
