Independently in Love

In childhood it is all about being ourselves
There is no uncomfortable feeling about being alone
We are absent minded to the other half that have a person to stand next to through everything.
Childhood is a toughening up stage.  
A time when we learn to be strong and independent 
Then
We grow up
We meet those of the opposite sex and something ignites
Now all we crave is someone to walk through life with
What happened to the strong independent child?
Now all you do as 'single' is look for a partner in crime
When you could be looking for opportunities 
This enticement for 'love', for touch
It takes over the mind even if it is only subconscious 
The day that we find a way to control and push aside this feeling is the one that we will meet someone worth our time.  
I think this is where the phrase 'two children in love' comes from.
Because being as a child is being comfortable in who you are
What you want
What you admire
You no longer depend on someone else's justification 
You are independently in love.
