Indian summer please ?

Indian summer please ?

Oh where an earth is the ‘Indian summer’ the one that I can remember, we basked in the sizzling sun in the middle of September

Shall it make an appearance, Oh  I’m hoping that it will coz I’m sat indoors in my livingroom feeling the autumn chill

Alas summer is sadly past & brought autumn in it’s wake
So winter will be following on with long cold days for pity’s sake

Whilst I shall listen to the weatherman to hear what he has to say... perhaps he may tell us an Indian summer is heading our way

I’m going to seek out my warm woolies & put away my summer stuff then hopefully sod’s law will weave it’s magic that’s if I wrap myself up enough!!!

A Lonely Journey

Jilliputian,
I so agree! Ugh! It's still warm here(yesterday was downright hot), but the nights are cold...and lonely(lol), and soon we'll be in for our 11 months of winter. How I dislike it. Time for the felt undies, I guess. lol.
Note: I think it's called Native American Summer in today's politically correct society. lol.
Loved the write.

No, I would never correct you, you're smarter than myself.
Our winters here in NY consist of 44 weeks of 79 degrees below zero(and that's the warm portion), 300 feet of snow, and everyone's tongue stuck to a metal pole(due to the lack of belief that it will actually stick, upon a dare). Once my tongue was stuck to a pole for 7 months, until I remember I had a blow torch in my pocket, and skewered it off. It was embarrassing.
What are your winters like? Are they brill?
