Infinite Beach

Infinite Beach

At the waves’ ending
a stretch of sand
that I clear of all rubble.

A deep breath and
I draw a circle
which

I step in, closing my eyes
to draw a maze
within this circle.

I take a leap of faith
to find myself
in the centre of the maze.

In the centre
I place a shell
I found came along,

covered in
intricate lines
that match the maze.

I am that shell, alive
out of my waters,

living
on strange, dry land
to find me still breathing…

Out of the depths
rises an awakening −
missing link slowly pushing,
unfolding
arms, legs

to open up my self
from the inside
and I open my eyes
to sunlight for the first time,
looking around the beach,

bending down,
reaching
for the shell.

I will take it back
opened
into the world,

out of the maze into the circle,
out of the circle into my self,
out of my self into my heart,
out of my heart into the world

and lay it
in your hands
for to root
and safekeeping

Hello John...

I almost missed this and when the date it made sense...

My 4 legged babes were feeling something in the air that day, all day long...

They don't like to watch Christmas movies without their Mom either...

Some people would have thought they must spend a lot of time around children...

They love kids but, it's all them...

They don't know they're a dog...

They believe they're the Boss...

Until treat time...

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

Why, thank you, I cannae hold this against you, our purring fourlegged one insists on sleeping on top of at night, waking me about four times a night, probably 3 out of 7 nights. I am finally writing again (5 in 10 days, of which #2 came on a few hours ago. For four months life was such that I could not concentrate, having a couple of failures (in Dutch). Also my mind and soul were in a worklock, haven't been on Cosmo all that time. My wife managed to break it about three weeks ago, luckily... I will be on more in the coming weeks. Hanx again for the support/appreciation ❤️

I cannot put what I feel about this work into words John, a truly fantastic, reflective write about rebirth of the soul x

Hanx, I just found this comment. This is about the way back to life for me... That is why there are some ritualistic formula's in the poem
