Poem -

The Infinite Flower.

The Infinite Flower.

Only three and nothing to do,

then comes a boy dressed in all blue.

His big brown eyes look up at the sun,

She not knowing he'll be the lucky one.

He looks at her with a smile on his face,

gave her a flower with six petals she can easily trace.

With six petals and nothing more,

"Boys have cooties!" says she, and throws it on the floor.

He only three looks at the smooshed flower in despair,

A tear rolling down his cheek, looking up as if he would care.

With five petals left and nothing more,

he will try again, for now he is four.

He goes up to her as confident as can be,

with her big blue eyes as blue as the sea.

He placing the five petaled flower in her hair,

she running away as if she didn't care,

The four petaled flower was falling to the ground.

The little boy gave up and stepped off his mound.

Now in their teens, much older now.

He coming up to her her with a big bow.

She looks at him and says "hey youre pretty cute!'

He couldnt say anything, nothing at all, for he was mute.

When they graduated college they were still together,

through the fights, the second thoughts, they will always be one, forever and ever.

He gives her flower where the petals are only four,

as he places one knee down on the hard floor.

Yes she says with a smile on her face!

With one petal gone and no sign of disgrace.

There are three petals left, now they can start their life,

from the very moment they said I DO and became husband and wife.

Years later the petals are now two

"Daddy, daddy, I need you to tie my shoe!"

He's off to college, now one more petal is gone.

While mom says good bye as she is weeping from her lawn.

The mother and the father havent seen their son in a while,

For he lives a little more then a mile.

He still comes and visits once every year,

but this time he had to visit twice, for he shed a tear.

The old father is so weak and feeble,

they finally had to visit the tall church with the tall steeple.

The little girl goes up to her grandma with a frown.

"I'm gonna miss him." she says as she adjusted her gown.

More years go by, watching her grandchildren grow

she eventually becomes very old and very slow.

Now with her husband looking down as of she was on a tall tower,

For there were no more petals on what seemed to be the infinite flower.
