Inhaling Springtime

A perfect blend of earth and sky
Nature’s paintings gone awry.
Songbirds singing everywhere.
Morning chorus awakens the air.
Swallows chaffinch and cardinal
Bluebird lark and thrush and quail
wren sparrow and fantail
The gentle lilting nightingale
Buzzing insects everywhere abound
Chirping crickets with endless sound
Insects scurrying to and fro
Busy ants always on the go
Are they as busy as the bee?
Pollinating everything they see
Rose arbors in the morning dew
Cloudless skies of azure blue
On wispy breezes a butterfly
Refreshing rains falling from the sky
Trimmed grass smelling sweet and green
The prettiest sights I have seen
Squirrels frolic in the trees.
Rabbits stealing lettuce leaves.
White pink and red the creeping phlox
Fragrance from night scented stocks
Majestic giant hollyhocks
Tower above the blue forget-me-nots
Welcome here not in the house
The nervous twitching field mouse
Waiting patiently for spring
Crowds of Daffodils make my heart sing
Taking all my cares away
Gifting me a perfect day -Â
