Inner Evil

In shadows deep, where darkness lies,
There dwells a beast, unseen by eyes,

An inner evil, born of night,

Within the heart, concealed from sight.

A whispering voice, it tempts and lures,

A serpent's hiss that coldly assures,

To feed the darkness, let it grow,

And let morality's embers go.

The guise of virtue, it may wear,

Yet festers wickedness, beware,

A masquerade of innocence,

Concealing malevolence immense.

With every step, it seeks control,

To shatter kindness, claim the soul,

In envy's grip, it finds delight,

In sowing discord, endless spite.

A mirror dark, reflecting sin,

A battle fought deep from within,

The struggle fierce, the soul at stake,

As virtue and vice collide and quake.

But know, dear heart, there's hope to find,

A light to break through shadows blind,

For good and evil coexist,

Within us all, a tryst persists.

Embrace the struggle, face the foe,

Confront the darkness, let it show,

Acknowledge it with fearless might,

And find the strength to make it right.

For in the depths, where shadows blend,

An inner evil can transcend,

When darkness touched by love's embrace,

The heart finds peace, the soul finds grace.
