Insanity

Insanity

They came telling us we were too liberal with our women (as if that excused their raping them)

They came telling us to stop marking our bodies

They came telling us to put on clothes

They came telling us to live in houses

They came telling us to be monogamous

They came enforcing their linear History, their factory clocks, and Modernity

They left their colonial machine behind

It is hardwired to their hegemony and continues to play in our heads

Now they are telling us to let our women loose

They brag about tattooing their flesh with our sacred scripts and symbols

They tell us to shrink our garments to be more revealing

They tell us to "get back to nature!"...while they dye their hair pink to match their plastic eyes

They tell us to label our children: "gay", "trans", "bi"; and to support promiscuity, because"sex sells" and "it isn't hurting anyone" (except perhaps all their aborted fetuses)

They tell us to "forget" all history

The same that enslaved us have the gall to declare they now return to set us free

While scattered stones testify to walls of fragmented glass

And peace evades us all

A great slam poem, hard hitting and awesomely questioning all that is asked of that is harmful such as shrinking the clothes and promiscuity. You express I. A creative fab way. Kudos.
i won't even ask you to comment but maybe you can just read my newest poem.
