Poem -

Insomnia vs. Sleep

Sick of the restless nights and rising mornings.
Iva, you have betrayed.
For my longest nights are spent dwelling on Sage, the beautiful and deadly.
Sage, have I never worshiped you enough?
I perform enough on the daily, where are you at night?
I do not see you.
When the wind blows, your name is a mere whisper in its great roar.
Iva, have I never wished you away?
I perform enough on the daily, why are you here at night?
I always see you.
When the owl plays his song on the highest tree branch, I can hear your name being called out through the night.
