I want to burn my love for you
into the earth indelible forever.
To write you a love poem
That rages like the ocean.
When in the eye of a hurricane.
Turgid and wild
nature exploding.
So wild the skies
are full of its power.
Watching it gain strength.
As we stand
on the unprotected shore.
the heat raising its crescendo
And it reaches landfall.
blowing away
all else in its fury.
The flotsam and jetsam of life
Blasted away in its hunger.
So wild we stand in its path
Holding onto each other
Holding so hard
Even it
cannot break us apart.
