Iridescent

I Bid you farewell, child,
To a land far out of reach,
Where the saints and soldiers go
To fight and to teach.
I bid you farewell, child,
For you are now a soldier.
You must be the sun for humanity,
Even as the world grows colder.
I can only be with you in spirit,
And there I shall remain,
Until your glorious return,
Neither broken nor blood-stained.
Be brave, child,
For the world is forever harsh.
Keep faith, child,
Even if you are to perish.
No matter the battle,
No matter the storm,
Remember these words,
For they shall keep you warm.
I'll always be your guide,
I'll always be your voice,
I'll be there to walk you
when you seem to have no other choice
But to move on this world,
And leave something behind,
And though I may be gone,
Yea, even in presence,
Never shall you forget me,
For I'll be the lasting iridescence.
