Irrecoverable

Irrecoverable

All day I am deafened by the silence
The graveyard is paying me a visit.
Outside the world a cacophony.
here the noiseless passing of time.

The sweater you wore
is losing its slight fragrance of you.
I breathe into it so deeply
I almost stop breathing.

But you are fading from me.
Like an old half-forgotten tune.
Outside the trees are changing
to the color of your hair.
Children laughing
doesn’t anybody care?.

I call our number once again
seeking the remnants
of your last breath.
You ask me to leave a message
I whisper
I miss you honey.
