Poem -

Is mine

My love for her is deep
Not everyone thinks she is the prettiest
Maybe it's my own power to love that's made me like this?
How can the nerves I'd feel in a house on fire
Or being chased by a madman
Or realising I'm seconds away from suicide on the bridge
Come rushing through my body just by seeing you in the corridor unexpectedly
Her goodness wells me up
I know she must have done some wrong in her life
But every centimetre of her body and hair deserves to be adored
I can't let her know
Even if I'm hers and she's mine
CCTV over her body and life
How anything she touches has life
I adore her chair for resting her
The floor for supporting her
The air for her breath
Her friends that I dislike for keeping her happy
And me
Maybe God will speak to me when I die about her
And tell me that it was all in my mind
And it is he who has kept me from insanity
And drowning.
I'm drunk with her
