It's Been a Tough Life

It’s been a tough life.
Not one of the childhoods where all you remember are the good moments,
But the type of childhood where all you remember are the bad moments.
And I’ve always wondered, what makes your childhood a good one?
 
Somehow, I’ve made it here,
And there’s nothing I’m more grateful for.
It’s been a tough life,
But there was always something to lean on.
 
Find the things that give you strength and hope,
Find the people that will give you what you need,
Find the ability to love and forgive yourself no matter what.
Only then, it’ll be a good life.
 
Don’t let the world tell you who to be.
Don’t let the pain tell you to leave.
Don’t let your mind get the better.
It’s a good life and I’m stronger than ever
Because of it all.
