I don't think anyone recalls when it started
Everyone just seemed to join in the parade
To blindly follow without reason
Histories reference is called " Drinking The Kool-aide"

I remember a time not too long ago
Starting the day was such a natural thing
Now it seems to be a chore for everyone
Unless they receive their caffeinated "zing"

Why must I follow the ways of the world
I  know I have the will to stand free
I think it just seems crazy
To allow a bean have control over me

The people of the world have become addicted
The economic impact is so huge it's insane
If you really stop and think for a moment
There's not much difference in coffee and cocaine

So hooray for those of us with will power
Who make sure there's hot cocoa in their mug
But considering that obesity is on the rise
Isn't chocolate just really a different drug
