JEANNE CALMANT

Ā
Believe what I write for this story is totally trueĀ
Jeanne Calmant died at hundred and twenty two
An attraction was built when she was fourteenĀ
The Eiffel Tower still stands and looks sereneĀ

At twenty one Jeanne smoked her first cigaretteĀ
The taste for her is something she couldn't forget
For ninety six years she continued to smokeĀ
I'm telling you no lies and isn't a funny jokeĀ

"The Lord God has forgotten me" she once saidĀ
An interesting thought as I lay here in my bedĀ
If I live to Jeanne's age I will have done wellĀ
Hope I finish up in heaven as I don't fancy hell
