Just A Reminder

Just A Reminder

A memory from one year ago-no, two years
that's all she had to repeat

To make Amele unfold and refold and fold back again,
To make her ponder and wander
Of places she'd burned and stabbed
Unaware of her own self affliction

Asking why it hurt when
She slowly ripped
Her struggling body apart.

Wondering why a horrid spreading burn hurt
As she soaked her whole body in gasoline
and promptly lit the match.

Screaming to be loved
Only to snarl and
Rip at her own flesh as they try.

The way she mutilates herself
As they have no tears left for her.

The way she presents herself as a weed
to any unfortunate soul
who attempts to help her.

The way she cripples to her knees
and dies against the bloody floor.

Isn't this just depressing?
Isn't it all depressing though?
