Just One

Have you ever felt like you were drowning?

Not in water but in the people around you.

Everything seems so hopeless.

You're grasping for air, trying to stay alive.

You're looking around to see if one person, just one, will pull you up.

You're hoping that one word, just one, will provide you with oxygen.

You're hoping that one light, just one, will guide you to safety.

And then it stops.

It is silent.
