Kamikaze pigeons...

Is this coronavirus affecting our planets' plants and animals?
Has anyone stopped and thought about it,
Does anyone know?

Have you noticed how some animals have become astray, I’ve had kamikaze virus like pigeons,
throwing themselves into harms way,
flying Into my windscreen,
I killed 3,
just the other day.
The road seemed littered with the vermin,
Like a pigeon pathed roadway. Has anyone else noticed,
This weird phenomenon,
Or am I just being paranoid, As I,
Like you,
Don’t want this dreadful virus, To carry on!

Is this coronavirus affecting our planets' plants and animals?
Has anyone stopped and thought about it,
Does anyone know?

Will it spread to foxes, Badgers and rabbits,
In their holes,
Virus ridden,
As they remain to be hidden, Under the ground in the day. Then as darkness looms,
Are they spreading this virus, And it’s spores,
With every step that they take.
Are they social distancing?
Or like some of us,
Not caring about the harm, that they cause and make?

Is this coronavirus affecting our planets’ plants and animals?
Has anyone stopped and thought about it,
Does anyone know?

If what all the whispers, About this virus being manmade are true,
Before they unleashed it upon us,
Me and the masses in queue! There must have been tests on animals,
To see the effects through? Just as they would,
When testing for a rare cancer,
Or even the flu.
So if they can get it injected in labs,
Then surely,
They can catch it naturally too?
Then even our pets are as vulnerable,
like me and also you?

Is this coronavirus affecting our planets' plants and animals?
Has anyone stopped and thought about it,
Does anyone know?

The bubonic plague,
was carried by armies of rats, and their fleas,
Could they be doing the same, Again,
Just spreading a different kind of disease.
Wiping out nations,
No way to fight back,
So it’ll win with ease.
Maybe because of simple rats,
ust chasing their cheese, Dropping morsels around your garden,
Laced with this pestilence,
For our pets to harbour and breathe...

Is this coronavirus affecting our planets plants and animals?
Has anyone stopped and thought about it,
Does anyone know?

I’m hoping it doesn’t affect our oxygen supplies,
If it spreads in living plants, and tall trees,
Only then will it become,
An apocalyptic breeze. Taking out hedgerow,
And grass by the seed,
It’ll also take away,
Those once pesky weeds.
So make a botanic garden in a dome,
As it may be the only way in the future to breathe.
If all living plants were to die, Simply,
Where would we be?
Is this coronavirus affecting our planets plants and animals?
Has anyone stopped and thought about it,
Does anyone know?
Has anyone stopped to think, What would happen,
If we didn’t exist,
All of us,
6 feet below!

Being Me

Great thought provoking write that raises a smile. I hate to bring bad news but I heard somewhere that if humans were wiped off the face of the earth, the planet would last no more than a week before it was nuked by all the nuclear plant reactors. No people to keep them cooled so they blow... Apparently. But, who knows? The damage we have done and continue to do to our planet is immeasurable and catastrophic.

As for the virus... Cats and dogs can get it too, yes. It doesn't appear to affect them like it does us though. And didn't it come from bats or pangolins or something in the first place? ??? x
