BLACK RAIN

You beneath the rubble
You in darkest dreams
Terrified and helpless
I think I hear your screams
A tiny chid, just six years old
So innocent and sweet
Your awful fate from awful sky
The day that mankinds soul did die
Trapped beneath the rubble
Unable to get free
Your mamma there to witness
Her child in agony
Screaming as the fire nears
Mamma help me please
But Mamma cannot free you
Insane with grief, she flees
Not far she goes
Just inches
She hears your agonised cries
A tiny daughter
Burns alive
In heart and soul
Your Mamma dies
Though not born yet
So long ago, in 1945
I felt the evil of this morn
The day the devil rose it's horns
Enactment though it may be
Just a moment on TV
It seared my soul so deeply
I can't forget, I bleed
And know, sweet child
In my mind's eye
I tried to get you free
But of course I could not help you
For your death plays out in history
But not forgotten, little Kazu
And here my pledge to you
We see
We hear
We carry
Your agony, your truth
And your Mamma livedΒ
Beyond that day
To tell her tale, to cry our shame
So never again shall fallΒ
Black rain
Two daughters lost
A husband too
HiroshimaΒ motherΒ
Hiroshima you
.
And I hope and pray that lady
Did not live very long
For who could live a normal life
Soundtracked by hell's own song
And your Mamma iv no words for
God bless her tortured soul
Β I just pray with all my broken heart
She lies in peace now
Next to you.
