Kissing touch

           Kissing touch

              ******

       Seated at the seashore

       close to the fast rolling waves,

       felt the ecstatic kissing touch

       of the waves under her feet ;

       Fear melted and heart moved with euphoria.

     The little birds flew away to the nests,

     the evening sun is about to sink slowly in the sea,

      boats moved back to the shore

      and the light from the distant ships

      was shimmering in the water.

      Reluctantly, she got up

      saying a bit louder,

      “I too must go home;

      My siblings must be getting annoyed

      with me, being away from home

       for so long, irrepressible;

       I should offer my shoulder

       to cry on in my mom’s absence

       as she had been taken away

       from us by cruel destiny;

        I must move forward faster

        to reach home, a kilometre away.”
