Woman of the wind
Mariah takes my breath away!
A porcelain heart when she's gone.
As she passes, leaves dance and play,
If she lingers they're dry as a bone.
She creates the waves of emotion,
But destroys the sand castle dreams.
She rules the top of the ocean!
But dies in the water it seems.
She can lift me to dizzying heights,
Or a blustery force to the ground!
Help me to see magic sights,
Or fondle and spin me around!
She howls in the siege of winter!
Heard to laugh in the chattering trees.
In spring finds a way to enter,
I'm reborn in her summer breeze.

Delightful words! Thank You!..............Jim
Jim, just shooting the poetry breeze and caught this one and glad it blew my way.
Excelent writing and not forgetting equally excellent rhyming scheme and a darned tricky one to pull off for it not become forced and makes things fit.
To keep it coherent and to keep it flowing.
Great Stuff!
And you mention Mariah and a great song featured in Paint Your Wagon and sung by Harve Presnell with gutso, like your engaging poem.
Inspiration perhaps.
Thanks for blowing out the cobwebs my friend and all good things to you and family :)
