Knocked Up And Barefoot

A fire burns within a womb that I did not know I had
.
It rages hot and ravenous and hell is it flaming mad
.
It's priming for war and craves weapons of pure metal
.
I have to feed it what it wants or else I'll die as well
.
This seed was sown in my filthy garden bed
.
Its root has shot right through my heart,
Its leaves unferl now from my head
.
It's had decades to feed off my hungry mind, quite an impressive head start
.
But now it stirs and wants to break
the water of my baptism
.
And burst upon this dreary scene with the light rays of a prism
.
Pray I manage to bring to term this powerful gift of the Age
.
His pen is filled with rainbow ink to cinder new life on page to coming page

Wow! Awesome poem Al. Great use of imagery. It really paints a picture in my mind and the piece flows really well. Top notch writing.
