I was thinking about knowledge this morning. More specifically, my dog. I was thinking about how well he understands things, especially words, he knows an awful lot of them, he certainly knows what we are talking about. For example, I said to him... It's raining right now (cue disappointment ... he is not a fan of the rain ) so we will go for a walk ( cue excitement ... walkies is always fun and walkies trumps rain so rain is instantly forgotten about) a bit later. The last bit is ignored, the word walk, meaning walkies, over rides e v e r y t h i n g. LATER, I say. L A T E R! He knows what later means but he chooses to ignore it. That is my dog's relationship with knowledge ... he does know things ... he knows a lot ... for a dog ... but he chooses to forget. I guess it is part and parcel with his selective hearing.
Hi BM,
thank you for reading. Dogs within their limitations have more understanding than known by us.

Hi John. A thought provoking read as ever here. I think even we humans have a limit to what we understand. Knowledge forever expands I think. I mean science is forever evolving in its theories. Even when we believe we have cracked something, we can discover a fresh can of worms so to speak that tips everything we thought on its head. You only have to look into what the James Webb has provided, to learn we got so many things wrong about space. So should we accept that knowledge is in fact accepting we will always be learning and what we think we know could one day prove to be wrong. Knowledge is expanding faster than we evolve. So is knowledge greater than our mortal brains? Probably. See you got me thinking and I love that about your poetry
A great piece

Hi Gwen,
“I think even we humans have a limit to what we understand.”
Birds, cats and dogs have the capacity for understanding within their narrow parameters. They can’t reason beyond their limitations. No different
with humans, our parameters are wider but still confined by creations infinite standards.
Thank you for reading.
