KOKO, SKINNY LISTER AND ME

First in the queue at 4.30 in freezing snow 
To see my favourite band perform at London's Koko 
At 5 I was joined by my friends Karen, Becky and Alastair 
It was freezing cold we didn't seem to care 

A pleasant surprise before the start of the show 
Max from the band popped up to say hello 
When the doors opened punctually at 7
The waiting public knew they would witness musical heaven 

Beans on toast started the music at spot on 8 
The musicianship of his band is fantastic and great
Then at 9.30 my favourite band Skinny Lister did appear 
I was so happy I shed a silent tear 

Everyone knows the respect I have of this band 
The energy levels and lyrics leave me in wonderland 
Every song they sing fills me with admiration and joy 
They touch the heart of this 50 year old boy 

Thank you Skinny Lister for the music you give 
I shall remember this night for as long as I live
