Lactose Intolerant

My umbilical cord's been severed
I'm plucked from the breast,
with a last gulp of milk still dripping down my neck
I was kicked out of the nest;
no more squishy worms for me
I have to fly and hunt for the meat
It's not about you;
you may still need incubation and that's ok
I love you as you should love me,
whether I remain at home or roam the skies
I will always land on a branch near by
and hold your hearts in my eagle eyes
There are rodent ideologies
among your tender stalks
So please don't be offended if you see me attack
It can appear to be quite violent at times
Trust me when I say it's for you and the others
I've been ordered by the Lord of the Harvest
to always have your back
That's my vocation and my cross to carry
On my feathered body are leather straps
They guide me in places you can't see
But that's where I am called to service
And you too will have some unique
and noble destiny,
as we give back to the King what he deservesÂ
