LAST FEW DAYS

Breaks my heart to see you in this way 
Knowing that your health gets worse by the day 
I remember you once as a real go getter 
Now I wish I could make you better 

Must be hard knowing today could be your last 
Time catches up with us all so very fast 
When I reach your age how will I be?
Will someone be caring and look after me 

Throughout the good times and the bad 
You were my father and I was your lad 
And when the time comes for you to say goodbye 
I will look back on you fondly and continue to try
