LEAN UPON MY FAMILY

LEAN UPON MY FAMILY

What will I do without my Family?

Family is vital like water that quenches thirst,

                       like food that satisfies hunger,

and like oxygen that is necessary for survival.

I cannot do without my loved ones, I need them

every step of the way to support me in my dreams,

to encourage me to be better,

and to pick me up when I fall.

I lean upon my family, thanking God for giving

me one, being fortunate to share laughter with,

                           to share sorrow with,

                  and to share pain with.

How will I be without my family?

Family is precious like beautiful jewels, worth

more than rubies, priceless beyond measure,

                              treasures to be loved,

and a pleasure to be around.

I am blessed to have a family, without their

counsel, protection, guidance and prayers,

I will surely be lost, destitute and corrupt.

Chances are I could of being a drunk,

                      could of being a prostitute

or could of being a murderer.

They have shaped me to be the person I am,

a person of good character, fine qualities,

and great potential.

This I owe to my family without a shadow

of doubt.
