Leap

It would seem someone so smart
Would ponder options of the heart.
Feared grief for the familiar way
Makes one imagine this isn’t the day
To take the leap and make the change
That others hope will relieve your pain.

Look into the mirror; it’s hard to do
But the dreaded option is lonely rue.
Envision the inevitable wilting away
Wandering the path that leads astray
Though quite foreign, you may say,
The simple road is a natural way.

Ball and chain crumble to dust
Never again your body trussed.
Your mind will gain control again,
Wash away the dirt within.
Don’t be afraid to try the new,
For old is tattered through and through.

Tears, dread and lonely night
Will melt away into the light.
Curtain drops, you begin to weep
Body weakened falls to sleep
Calm the clatter and your racing mind.
Relax each muscle and unwind.

Don’t rush this gentle path you take,
Patience, the teacher, do not forsake.
Sun will rise and sun will set,
Life goes on, you will not fret.
For you are where you are suppose to be,
Just concentrate on being free

From all the trappings in this life
Which bring about such turmoiled strife.
Look within for something true,
Make the change to something new

"Leap" caught my attention...such a simple word with a broad spectrum. Your words flow very well and it contains a great message. Thank you!
