LEST WE FORGET

Caught up in a tragedy for the people there
The bloodshed and tears too much to bear 
The anniversary occurred a few days ago 
Never to be forgotten as the history books will show

So many lives were affected on that fateful day
Deaths occurred to the world's shock and dismay 
Betty the air controller was heard no more 
Jason the firefighter a hero for certain and sure

Time heals all wounds so the old saying goes
Why should it happen only the good Lord knows
Remember then dear friend the events of 9/11
The people no longer here ascended to heaven
