Let Elohim Decide

Jury in the panel box,
You are a just bunch
So, declare your verdict
and may the Judge satisfy your assessment here in this court room today,
as it would be by your code of conduct in daily civil life
But please give me a sentence I can bear, not one that would utterly ruin me and leave me destitute forever
Please believe that I am remorseful and won't do that crime again
Let me do community service, if that's an option. Perhaps I can work with others at risk to deter them from making the same mistakes I did.
And please don't leave anything unresolved that might reopen this case at a later date, but ensure complete closure now
Help me to rehabilitate and not get caught up with the same bad crowd that implicated me to begin with
You guys are what makes our society safe and fair
I defer to your wisdom and kind will
May the sentence stand for good

wonderful poem
What an interesting and unique poem. I like how the character in the poem is pleading for a higher power to judge their crimes, verses the legal system. Or, could it be that the character is begging for equality -- that, the punishment should fit the crime. I hope I read it correctly.
