Let Me Guide You

Lying on the floor, I see heavily sedated.
A man in desperation, all his hope faded.
I shine a light in his eyes, though I am guilty of the same.
I want him to realize, the light is not to blame.
But a gentle guide to find his way back home.
In case he decides he's been gone far too long.
One day I may wander to far for me to see,
So if I slip under, he may do the same for me.

complex multi-layered poem, Amanda Horne, I really like this one, it's like an onion, the more I read it it feels as if something new is being revealed, that is very cool....here is what I'm seeing; two people are on the same dangerous journey, one is more aware of the dangers but still can't find a way to make if safe, decides to make the best of it and hopes for the good Karma to follow them, by helping their fellow traveler.....would love to hear the poet's meaning of this write, it is fascinating...welcome, poet

Hi Amanda I agree with Christopher a multi layered poem
which you leave up to the reader to unravel I like it very much too
it speaks of an addiction to me? maybe drugs.
he is sedated, I too thought of your last two lines
and thought he would help her if she were under
the influence as he was (just my thoughts as i read )
Great write!
Welcome to Cosmo look forward to reading you more
Best wishes Debs
Yes, this one I wrote during a past relationship. We both were living a wild lifestyle, but I managed to stay within safer boundries, but there was always risk. I'm happy to say I got away from that now, Glory to God!
