Poem -

Let me walk

Let me walk one more mile before you take him home, let me walk just one more mile before my dad is gone

Let me dream one more dream of watching my dad grow, let me dream just one more dream before his time to go

Let me see just one more smile upon his aging face, and help me keep another smile to fill this empty space

And when he's gone please hide his eyes so he can't see my tears, and help me walk with laughter so my cries don't reach his ears

Lord let me walk just one more mile I know his days are few, lord let me walk just one more mile and then he'll go with you
