Let’s Make A Deal

Let’s Make A Deal

I’m writing to the man upstairs, to beg him make a deal;

To reconstruct a dogs longevity, and the old one to repeal!

To think about how unfair it is, some birds get seventy-five;

And those big old turtles down in Galapagos, two hundred stay alive!

A dog is mans most beloved pet, you made their hearts so pure;

But most of them don’t make fifteen, you need to give them more!

It’s also for your people true, the ones who kneel and pray;

They need you to change all of this, make their doggies longer stay!

How about giving them a real fair shake, and doubling what they’ve had;

For then we’d have them thirty years, we’d be happy and not so sad!

Let’s do a deal that’s “quid pro quo”, scratch our backs, and we’ll scratch yours;

Give us what we’re asking for, and we’ll promise no more wars!

We’ll also not pollute the air, new methods we will probe;

We’ll do everything that we need do, to stop the warming globe!

So what do you say? Have we got a deal? Will you “let our doggies go”?

And bless them with this gift from God, please say it shall be so!
