Letting go of a frenemy

I tried I swear
I tried
I held his hand for
As long as I could
Until I could no longer feel the
Feeling in my arms
And his eyes
The were cold and lost
Almost as if he had
Died before he even died
And I cried because I was letting
Go of a friend
And his name was Satisfaction
You see
I've been idle too long and
Think its time for action
My dreams spoke to me
They told me you stand for more
And this is my reaction
I can no longer hold on to you
You've become a weight I can't wait
To let go of you've stalled me
Kept me walking in place
And I hope you know now
That I've held on long enough
I will no longer settle for less

Thank you for that onlooker.
I enjoyed this reading, your title - Frenemy -fit just right with the body of your prose. I could almost feel the sadness of letting go. your choice of idiom truly was capture in this reading for me.
FOR TRULY IT STARTS WITH YOU AND ENDS WITH YOU!
Thank you Ezek I tried to stay consistent with the title.
Love CO
I think its very important to not just give in because you feel comfortable, that too will most likely end because permanency doesn't apply to everything, comfort being one of them. KEEP FIGHTING EVEN AFTER YOU'VE WON ~ CO
Like that...keep fighting even after you won!
