Liberating

Liberating

I woke up today without an alarm,

Got up feeling great.

Looked down at my sleep wear thinking this will do,

Left my lunch in the fridge,

Suitcase at the door,

Out the door.

Turned on the car and for the first time let it warm up,

Drove to the freeway obeying every traffic law,

Motored in the slow right lane,

And took so much of my time,

I took the time from others.

Approaching exit,

I exited slow lane,

Putting pedal to the metal,

Today I go where I've never been before.
