Life by choice

As babies of innocence

We grow and follow, 

Lead by the ones we trust most. 

Examples they set, 

For a pattern to follow.

Toddlers we become, 

and walk in the path

Of the two in whose care we reside, 

We grow and learn. 

We become the young adult, 

Patterned by experiences, 

And by the life we have been given. 

As we enter a life of our own, 

We begin to question the direction

Our path has taken.

Do we continue on this path? 

Or do we choose a path of our own?
