LIFE IN 2022

When a child asks you how was the good old days?
What are you going to say?
I'm going to say...
The good old days was when justice was served...
People were kind to one another...
No one was selfish...
People were highly intelligent...
There were a lot of inventors...
I can't imagine or want to know what it would be without them...
The great inventors all died by now...
They were able to keep people cool in the summer warm in the winter...
They made light for the dark of night...
Before that it was really hard...
Plumbers were needed...
Before people would have to go outside and into the out house to pee or #2...
When the snow would be up to their knees and the moon didn't always shine...
Life in 2022 my dear...
It was a crazy time...
More people had mental illness...
Children got social anxiety...
Covid came and it killed a lot of people...
Children couldn't go to School...
The Government broke a lot of rules...
They changed the laws that had once had given us protection...
They didn't want people to be able to defend themselves or their family...
Prices trippled or quadrupled really fast...
I wish I had good news for you...
I'm sorry everything was made really hard for your generation...
All the old time builders have all died...
The people were taught by their father's...
Father's who knew how to build, roof, those kids will be ok...
Lots of kids Dad's had walked away...
They didn't get to learn that...
Kids spent a lot of time on their Electronics....
They weren't able to feed their imagination...
I didn't grow up with technology...
We didn't have play dates...
We just went out and played...
I didn't how lucky I was that I could do that...
Now, kids can't or don't want to do that...
The good old days you ask?
I don't know...
Must have been before I was born...

I heard they used words like 'please' and 'thank you' and they had this weird thing called respect.
And when it got cold in the evenings dad would suck an extra strong peppermint and we all sat round his tongue to keep warm.
Really enjoyed reading your piece here.
respect was a little more prevalent! instant gratification was a pop bottle you could take to the store, walking, trade it in for a nickel and get some bubblegum to SHARE! lol! cool write!...............................................Jim
