Life is Like a Box of Chocolates

Life is Like a Box of Chocolates

Have you ever
awoken
from drops
of rain
spattering
on yourĀ
face
in a foxhole
in the
midstĀ
ofĀ
Nowhere?

Self induced
Exile
left
a
soldier
to question
the validity
of life
humanity
theĀ
purpose
of moving on

I rememberĀ
watching
Forrest Gump
Knowing the
impact this
film
Played
as it spoke
to the wheel
of life

For me
I have seen the jungles
when it could not stop
raining
the desert
where the road
seemed to never
end
The outcome
however is for many
of us
the same
as the road less
traveledĀ
often leads usĀ
backĀ
home......................
