The Life You Are Living

Black poems rust in a million pockets
Issues scream out into the darkness
Problems are ghost in the night
Stars that are invisible to the human eye
Cries and tears disappear in the day
Wishes wander in dark wells
Dreams are never perceived
Talents are concealed
Love is not expressed
True happiness is undiscovered
A car on a bumpy road
Going the wrong direction
Pictures from the past are prized
Change is obsolete
Your symphony played by others
Your message sent by a friend
A door with a lost key
Locked by someone else
Hope itching at your scalp
Your painting without a signature
A crush you will never speak to
A friend you will never meet
Screams begin to consume you
Thoughts of the future make you cry
Unhappiness boils inside your brain
Your shadow is beginning to disappear
A trend that ran its course
A game that has gotten old
Black and white pictures
That need a new color
A caterpillar with no wings
Is not a butterfly
A song with no melody
Is only a poem
Then why am I living this life?
