LIFTED SAILS

Dancing with the wind

LIFTED SAILS

Raise the anchor
Untie the chains
Cast off from the shores
Lift the sails

It's time to go a sailing
The seasons are changing
And so must I
So I'm off into the sunset
To kiss the sky

Watch me drift out to sea
Away from the competition
Just the waves and me

I've danced my last dance
I've sang my last song
It's time to explore new frontiers
It's time to move along

So happy trails to one and all
I've had a heck of a run, I've had a ball
Thanks for your kindness,
Compassion and care
And who knows where the wind will guide me
In the anticipated New Year.

Wilford Barker.

Hello Wilford, I sense grabbing life here and not being afraid to test new waters. Hope this isn’t a goodbye poem dear poet. Wonderful imagery and the enthusiasm of the piece radiates in your well chosen words
All the best

Hang in there Wilford and with poems of this assured quality and impact just don't go away man.
A beautiful write that reads like a rights of passage conducted and guided by life itself.
Again hang in there and with life it's always day by day and things change Wilford and usually for the better in one's heart and what's bestowed when least expected.
I wish you well my friend on all your endeavours and thank you and see you soon.
