Light a candle in the darkness

Take care of your boobs
Lets all work together
Find out how to check for lumps and for bumps
Dont panic if you find one, just go to the Doc
No matter what happens, your a women, your strong
Together we must make every single female aware
How to love herself enough, to cheak and take care
To all that this illness has robbed of their time
I light a candle in the darkness and as i watch it shine
I think of you to-night as i close my eyes
Let these women not die in vein
Let us all light a beautiful candle to-night in their name
Tell your daugthers and sisters
Spread the word and make all aware
Together we are stronger, show you care

Excellent, Louise women do need to start loving themselves enough to take care of themselves. I enjoyed your poem about fighting breast cancer.
Thank you Kiesha, we can not love anyone or anything until we first love ourselves :) Took me a long time to learn this and i try to remind myself of it daliy now. :) so grateful for your comment.
Hello Louise,
You did a wonderful job in this dedication for a cause, that we all,(men and women) wished had already been eradicated decades ago, yet although it has not been, the cure still does remain out there and until then, all that can be done, is education of our young, (female and male). Cancer in general, has claimed the lives of (3) of my brothers and(1) other, remains in remission.....Cancer has no special picks, nationalities, nor gender preference, let's do our part through supporting those in need and educating those, that will follow, in all of our foot steps, too allow (it not), to have any choices..........As always a great job and against a truly, (unwanted) cause....
Warmest regards,
Jim
Hi Jim, good to hear from you :) you know you are so right Cancer does not pick by nationalities, gender, rich or poor. I suppose with this poem i was thinking women because it was on breast cancer, but I think I have heard that men can also have breast Cancer. It may not be as common place but I am sure I have heard or read that it happens. Education is the way forward and I am thankful that more and more is known about this serial killer - Cancer. The more we understand about it, the more we can learn to attack it and save lives from its grip.
I am so so sorry Jim to hear about your 3 brothers, that must have been so difficult for you and all your family. Your brother that is in remission I hope above all hope he will recover well and live long.
Thank you as always for your lovely comment Jim. I will light my Angel Candle (no im not nuts or away with the fairys :) on this one, let me explain. I was given a gift a few years ago by my sons of three Angels holding hands in a circle. In the centre there is a place for a candle. I light this candle and think of someone who may need some help and hope this little prayer may do some good for that person) so your brother will be thought of with the next candle i light. Wishing for him peace, health and happiness.
Take care.
