Lightning Strikes [Memoirs Of A Third World Child]
I look up to see nimbus clouds
It’s going to rain heavily without doubt
The golden rays of the sunset
Have been replaced with a sky that looks upset
Ominous roars of thunder
Taunt at us behind the clouds’ cover
My cousin and I are biking to my grandfather’s
His friend joins us on this three mile ride
Rain starts pouring down
It’s so dark the darkness feels palpable
I follow my cousin’s voice through it
We’re almost there, I can’t see it but I can feel it
We stop by what must be the gates
Lightning strikes I see my cousin and his friend
In the brief light
It gave me a fright but we've arrivedÂ
