Like an Opium Smoker

Like an Opium Smoker

I came to You
Like an Opium smoker to his pipe
Elixir of life opening my view
My mind open and ripe

I wanted to share my mind
Untold mysteries there you'd find
Searching for the missing part of my soul
The half to make me whole

I recognized a spark of the Divine
A channel bringing words sublime
I saw in you a reflection of me
Two souls colliding, two spirits free

I felt you across time and space
I didn't need to see your face
Words reaching out across the universe
A winding river of verse

I came to You
Like an Opium smoker to his pipe
Searching for new visions
Riding on new born thoughts like a kite in the wind

I came to You
Like smoke on the wind
Changing your views
And like a leaf on the breeze
You blew away

Time is an illusion
We're lost in confusion
Visions anew
Manifest for me and for You

I came to You
Like an opium smoker to his pipe
And like smoke on the wind
You blew away.
