Little Bud

This poem is dedicated to my newborn cousin called Naël and his mom Océane who's like a little sister to me.

Little Bud

A little bud was born at the end of the year.
We weren't expecting you, little bud.
In any case, not that way, little bud.
You are here now, and all is well because we are there too, little bud.
You will always be surrounded, little bud.
But know that your coming shocked me, little bud.
I haven't seen you yet, but I adore you already, little bud.
You can call me whatever you want, but "aunt" will suit me, little bud.
You have a hell of a road ahead of you, little bud.
With your young mother and your young father, little bud.
You will do very well, I'm sure, little bud.
And we will all be proud of you, little bud.
