Little Chubby Cheeks

Little Chubby Cheeks loved everything sweet,
Victim of gluttony,
She'd eat and she'd eat.

She loved cookies, cakes,
and all sugar bakes.
Overindulgence,
Her greatest mistake.

For her,
Desserts delivered instant satisfaction,
Excessive sweets,
That have caused her body a negative reaction.

Little Chubby Cheeks has gained many pounds,
Hardly an issue?
It's worse than it sounds.

She can hardly walk,
Her breathing is heavy,
She can hardly talk,
Things are getting pretty scary.

The doctors fear she's approaching diabetes,
A disease caused from eating too many treaties.

At the ledge Chubby Cheeks was about to lose hope,
Quickly falling,
Til she was thrown a jump rope.

At first it was hard hopping and skipping,
It was an idea she quickly thought about ditching.
But the truth was she had no other option,
She was out of time and she now had to take action.

She changed her diet in her pursuit,
For her it was now nothing but salads and fruit.
Slowly but surely she worked on her jump rope,
Progressive actions now helping her body cope.

Little Chubby Cheeks has now slimmed down,
Gotten fit,
It wasn't easy,
So she works hard to maintain it.

No longer a victim of gluttony,
Because she has chosen a lifestyle both good and healthy.

Thank you :) The poem is not really so much about being over weight as it is about overeating causing diabetes and how gluttony can hurt you. Diabetes is a lot more common than people think and it is a painful disease... I know from experience...I hope I did not offend anyone with this poem. If so I have no problem removing it. I appreciate your comments:)

It's an inspiring piece on how easy it is to overindulge ,especially children .my mum has diabetes, and children are prone to it too now.so eating healthier is the option they should take.Too many mums giving junk food to kids and that usually ends up with the health problems later in life .Even my eldest daughter who hasa serious heart condition has to be monitored with food as she loves food .so i have to watch what i buy . good piece!
