The Littlest Girl

There is a little girl, she lives in a tree
Smaller than a flower but noisy as a bee
The dew is her river, the leaves are her bed
The flowers all give her petals for her head
There is a little girl, she lives in a hole
With wood on all sides and no one to hold
She dreams she was bigger, she dreams she was free
She wishes she was someone like you or me
There is a little girl, she lives in the dark
With the moon above as her only spark
She no longer smiles, she no longer plays
Sheβs stopped trying to wish her pain all away
There was a little girl she lived in the trees
With no one to love her, not even the bees
The hole where she stayed lays empty and cold
Filled with nothing but dust, her place it holds
There is a little girl, she lives under the bed
With hatred and want cluttering her head
Sheβs watched you for days; sheβs seen you be bad
She swears she will take everything you have
Thereβs a little girl, she lives in the dark
And when your lights go out, her new home sheβll start
