Loner

Glad I had a plan and never took the path most choose to,
Glad I stuck to the principles that most dont find,
I knew from a young age that what I saw before me made no impression,
And some of what I witnessed was very wrong.
I could be called an outcast because I didnt follow what I considered to be foreseeable, 
I figured most things out for myself and found my own philosophy,
I removed myself from the drama at the first available opportunity,
And didnt do what my contemporarys did.
I've been astute and stayed away from responsibilities that cause so many problems unnecessarily, 
I've stood on the periphery watching the hypnotised pass by,
I've stood on the periphery watching it all disintegrate, 
I saw them all dutiful in the midst of Denial whilst trying to convince themselves they've made choices.
As far as tradition goes I've never been a great success, 
As far as tradition goes I've never taken part and never settled down,
I've never been conditioned or influenced by anyone,
So I've never been accepted into anyone's tribe.
