Long to live

I know that what you’re doing is right
But I want you to know
That I’m going to be fine

You can’t protect me forever
Because one day I’ll be gone
And that’s when life will hit me harder
Because I was sheltered for so long

I never got the chance to experience what life was really like
 You have to trust me and let me learn from my mistakes,
Because that’s how I’ll get stronger,
And that’s how I’ll become wiser
That’s how I’ll become a politician

I know life’s a bull, getting ready to charge
And I know I’m stubborn so I’ll face it head on 
But you have to let me live
I must learn to fly

So let me spread my wings and soar away
I’ll be back some other day
You haven’t lost me, 
At least not forever
I’ll be sure to visit, 
Remember never, say never
