The Longest Pregnant Season

I’m Hungry all the time, though I know just where it goes

But I will take advantage for it helps our baby grow

Moods are so unstable, dear hormones, you're the worst!

I know I'm acting crazy, but, Bi-Polar? that's a first!

Rushing to the bathroom like clock work every day

And wait for it to hit me, how I hate to feel this way.

How some women can do this, and then still want another

Is a question I demand to ask all expecting mothers

Clothes are getting snug, so toss them in a pile

And run a little longer, "must go that extra mile".

One lady said “you’re just so cute, sweetest pregnant lady.”

I turned as if to say to her, “No ma’am, I think you’re crazy”

Shopping takes forever, most foods seem so appealing

Until I go to make them, then come these nauseous feelings

Husband says you’re beautiful, my little pregnant lady

And so I laugh and say to him, “here, you have our baby.”

Then we’ll see how beautiful you’ll feel for when you see

How horrible you know you look, and then we will agree.

It takes some getting used to, the longest pregnant season!

Though what we're looking forward to, could be no greater reason.

And then a moment, like no other, sweet as it could be

Our baby kicked a little bit, and I could barely breathe.

But beautiful it was indeed, the first time that we felt

Daddy said, “You are my life” and then my heart did melt.

How crazy things were changing, a gift from up above

A baby boy was sent to us because we fell in love!
